Iron in well water leaves orange stains on sinks, toilets, and clothes. Local wells often carry iron far above the safe limit. An iron filter stops it at the pipe before it reaches your taps.
Hydrogen Sulfide (Rotten Egg Odor)
A rotten egg smell means sulfur in your water. It is common in Osceola and Orange County wells. A sulfur filter clears the odor right at the pipe. The smell will not follow you into the house.

Polk County
Common issues: Very hard water (10 to 18 gpg), high manganese, some areas with low pH from organic acids in sandy soils. Bartow and Lakeland municipal water adds chloramines.
